Course Name: Certificate in Pre-School Teaching Assistant
Course Id: CPTA/Q0101.
Eligibility: 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or equivalent is required.
Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Pre-School Teaching Assistant course is to train individuals in supporting the educational, emotional, and social development of children aged 2 to 6 years. The course covers early childhood development principles, classroom management, learning through play, assisting with lesson planning, activity execution, and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment.
Duration: Three Months.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Syllabus:
Module 1: Introduction to Early Childhood Education: Overview of preschool education and its importance, Role and responsibilities of a teaching assistant, Understanding stages of child development (0-6 years), Learning through play concept, Introduction to different preschool philosophies (Montessori, Play-way, etc.), Basic ethics and professionalism in preschool, Importance of safety and hygiene in classroom, Daily routine and structure in preschool settings, Understanding inclusive education, Promoting positive behavior in children.
Module 2: Child Psychology and Developmental Milestones: Cognitive development in early childhood, Social and emotional development, Language and communication skills in preschoolers, Motor skills – fine and gross development, Observation and assessment techniques, Identifying developmental delays or concerns, Supporting children with special needs, Importance of bonding and trust-building, Role of environment in child behavior, Encouraging curiosity and self-expression.
Module 3: Teaching and Learning Methods: Basic teaching aids and tools for preschool, Storytelling and rhymes as learning methods, Arts, crafts, and creative expression activities, Circle time – songs, games, and interaction, Puppet play and dramatization for learning, Indoor and outdoor play activities, Introducing basic concepts (colors, shapes, numbers), Group activities and peer learning, Audio-visual teaching techniques, Maintaining engagement and attention span.
Module 4: Language, Literacy and Numeracy Readiness: Introducing letters and sounds (phonics), Vocabulary building through pictures and actions, Early reading and pre-writing skills, Pencil grip and pattern tracing practice, Number recognition and counting 1–20, Shapes, sizes, and comparisons, Concept of more/less, big/small, Introduction to days of week, months, seasons, Interactive storytelling for literacy development, Games and songs for number concepts.
Module 5: Health, Nutrition and Safety for Preschoolers: Basic hygiene practices – hand washing, toileting, Personal grooming and cleanliness, Common childhood illnesses and first aid basics, Healthy food habits and child nutrition, Handling allergies and food restrictions, Safe classroom and play environment setup, Child abuse prevention awareness (POCSO basics), Emergency response and evacuation drills, Supervision during play and outings, Creating a safe and supportive learning space.
Module 6: Communication, Records, and Parent Interaction: Effective communication with children, teachers, and parents, Maintaining child progress records and attendance, Preparing learning materials and activity logs, Assisting in classroom decoration and setup, Supporting parent-teacher meetings and feedback, Teamwork and collaboration with lead teachers, Handling queries from parents professionally, Assisting in events and celebrations, Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, Ethics, patience, and empathy in early education.
