Introduction to water Resource Management: Strategic issues in water resources management, types of planning, flood protection, irrigation and drainage, groundwater resources, surface water, integrated water resources, projections of water demand, system elements, incorporation of water quality, integrated water resources system.
Water resource distribution: Introduction, water resources assessment, watershed management, water harvesting, water resources development, watering point system.
Surface & Ground water hydrology: The technical foundations for the development of groundwater resources, hydraulic head and fluid potential, groundwater and its chemical constituents, infiltration and groundwater recharge, development of groundwater resources, water quality standards.
Principle of Irrigation: Irrigation, irrigable lands, water supply, design and construction of canals, irrigation by pumping, drainage, canal structures.
Integrated water resource management: Water management principles, water use, impacts and benefits, steps in development of the situation analysis, water resource situation analysis.
GIS for water resource: Watershed management, flood management, groundwater, water quality.
