Introduction to Printing Technology: Introduction to sheetfed offset presses, sheet control and delivery in offset press, printing unit in offset press, webfed offset press – infeed and web guiding devices, webfed offset press – delivery.

Print Production Management: Principles of management, estimating and costing, planning for print production, accounting and budgeting, human resource management.

Printing Materials and Inks: Composition of paper and pulping process, manufacturing of paper and board, paper, board – types, sizes and properties, printing inks – composition and manufacturing, ink drying and ink problems.

Printing Machine Operation and Maintenance: Maintenance management, power transmission, mechanical and electrical elements, lubrication and reconditioning, maintenance of mechanisms.

Safety in the Printing Industry: Introduction, flexographic printing, screen printing, the history of ink production, components of printing inks, relationship between printing inks and printing types, types of chemicals used in printing house, occupational illness and injury, exposure to hazardous chemicals, health and safety management plan in printing industry, interactions between food and printed packaging.

Printing Processes: Introduction to printing processes, principles of printing processes, classifications of offset printing machines, classifications of flexography printing, classifications of gravure & screen printing.
