Diabetes Diagnosis and Monitoring: Introduction, operational definition of GDM, technical guidelines on testing & management of GDM, operational aspects of GDM programme, records & registers, goal strategic approach and activities, operational plan for rolling out GDM program, program monitoring.

Nutrition and Diabetes Management: Introduction, epidemiology, risks and complications of diabetes, desserts of India, managing your menu in an Indian restaurant, exchange lists for Indians with diabetes, gestational diabetes sample meal plan, clinical preventive services for normal risk adults.

Cultural Competence in Diabetes Care: Diabetes in its historical and social context, normal physiology, pathogenesis of diabetes, other types of diabetes, managing the person with diabetes, microvascular complications in diabetes, treatment of diabetes, psychosocial aspects of diabetes.

Education and Counseling Techniques: Introduction, insulin regimes, carbohydrate value of common Indian foods, montoring blood sugar, diabetes control, management of diabetes during illness, psychological issues of children with diabetes, foot care for people with diabetes.
