Course Name: Diploma in Salon Management Hair Dressing
Course Id: DSMHD/Q1001.
Eligibility: Completion of 10th Grade (high School) or equivalent.
Objective: To provide learners with comprehensive knowledge and skills in both salon management and hairdressing techniques. The course covers hair cutting, styling, coloring, and treatment methods, alongside key aspects of running a successful salon such as customer service, inventory control, staff management, and business operations. It prepares students to deliver quality hair care services and efficiently manage salon environments.
Duration: Six Months.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 120 minutes.
No. of Questions- 60. (Multiple Choice Questions).
10 Questions from each module, each carry 10 marks.
Maximum Marks- 600, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Salon Management: Introduction to salon and beauty industry, Roles and responsibilities of a salon manager, Understanding customer expectations, Importance of hygiene and sanitation, Salon infrastructure and equipment, Licensing and legal requirements, Basic accounting for salon management, Record keeping and appointment scheduling, Staff roles and teamwork in salon, Ethics and professional standards in salon business.
Module 2: Hair Science & Hair Care: Structure and function of hair, Hair growth cycle, Common hair problems (dandruff, hair fall, dryness), Scalp and hair analysis, Hair types and textures, Hair care products and their uses, Importance of diet and nutrition for healthy hair, Hair spa treatments, Basic hair care routines, Client consultation for hair care solutions.
Module 3: Hair Cutting & Styling Techniques: Basic haircutting tools and equipment, Principles of haircutting (angles, elevation, layering), Classic haircuts (bob, blunt, layered, pixie), Men’s haircut styles, Hair trimming and texturizing, Blow-drying and finishing, Hair styling for occasions, Braiding and updos, Use of heat styling tools, Hands-on practice in haircutting and styling.
Module 4: Hair Coloring & Chemical Treatments: Introduction to hair coloring, Types of hair color (temporary, semi, permanent), Color wheel and theory, Techniques of hair coloring (global, streaks, highlights, balayage), Henna and herbal coloring, Hair straightening and rebonding, Hair perming and curling, Keratin and smoothening treatments, Safety measures during chemical treatments, Aftercare for treated hair.
Module 5: Salon Operations & Customer Service: Salon front desk management, Appointment booking systems, Effective client communication, Building customer loyalty, Handling complaints and conflict resolution, Sales and retailing of beauty products, Time management in salon services, Staff supervision and motivation, Marketing and branding of salon services, Social media presence for salons.
Module 6: Professional Practice & Entrepreneurship: Salon business planning and setup, Budgeting and financial planning, Supplier and inventory management, Recruitment and training of staff, Quality control in salon services, Legal and tax compliances for salons, Expanding services and franchising, Personality development and professional image, Career opportunities in beauty and hair industry, Capstone project – Create a salon management plan with hair service portfolio.
