Syllabus
Printing Process: Introduction to printing processes, evolution of printing, invention of movable type, lithography, offset printing, intaglio, gravure, flexography, screen printing, digital printing, hybrid printing, image assembly and plate making, digital prepress, reproduction technology, press (printing), post press/finishing, application of printing processes, flexography printing, letterpress printing.
Graphic Design: The basic elements, lines, shape, texture, space, size, value, colour, colour wheel, primary primary colours, secondary colours, tertiary, complementary, analogous colours, colour and emotion.
Offset Printing: History of offset printing, advantages of offset printing, before offset printing, offset printing process, parts of offset printing process, types of offset presses, the inking process.
Screen Printing Techniques: The design is created, the screen is prepared, the emulsion is exposed, the emulsion is washed off, creating the stencil, the item is prepared for print,the ink is pressed through the screen onto the item, the product is dried, checked and finished, screen printing press, the inks the silk screen.
Paper & Ink Technology: ink types, inkjet laser, vellum, bubble jet, laser jet, spot color, four color process (CMYK), image gradient, raster graphics software, Halftone gradient.
Binding: Specific binding process: Cutting, Folding, Adhesive binding, Wire Stitching, Case binding.
