Early Childhood care and Education: Nature, aims and objectives of pre-school education, stages and principles of child development, aspects of development, elementary principles of nutrition, under nutrition & malnutrition, activities of various agencies, child welfare, organization on preschool centers, methodology of pre-school centers and programmes.
Organization and management of Pre-School: Organization of different preschool, centers, methodology of Montessori teaching, organization and management of crèche/preschool/ Montessori school, human resource management, fiscal management & budgeting, assessments and evaluation in Montessori education.
Parent Education, Nutrition and Health: Introduction, objectives, teaching aids & multimedia packages- technological media in education, mass media in education (Radio, TV, films and press), role of school head in planning and management of teaching Aids, effective teaching aids, the psychology of using teaching aids/ audio- visual aids, eating and drinking.
Introduction to Child Development: Concept, nature and importance of child psychology, methods for studying child behavior and development, principles of development, prenatal development, baby care and childhood problems, development of creativity, language development, personality development, learning disabled children.
