Introduction to Jewelry Design: Role of an appraiser and valuer, jewellery appraising process workflow, stages of jewellery value chain, jewellery weight inspection, visual examination of product quality and karatage, estimation of value of jewellery.
Jewelry Business and Marketing: History of Indian jewellery, role and responsibilities of jewellery retail sales associate (JRSA), interacting with customer, explain to customer about jewellery product offerings, handmade jewellery, machine made jewellery.
Jewelry Repair and Restoration: The basic of jewellery care, the basics of jewellery cleaning, the basic of jewellery repairs, repairing a silver shank, soldering rings together, reducing size and replacing a half shank.
Basic Techniques in Jewelry Making: Stone cutting, gold silver and weights processes involved in jewelry making, modeling and casting, equipment, types of Indian jewellery, bridal jewellery, handmade jewellery.
Metalworking Techniques: Introduction, design suitability for soldering/brazing, soldering and brazing methods, flame soldering or brazing, quality assurance.
Handmade Jewellery & Computer Aided Jewellery Design: Free hand drawing, jewellery terminology, pendants, earrings, bracelets, sets, brooch, rings, enhancement of a design using techniques of decoration, spring ring clasps, textures used in jewellery.
