Construction Material and Practices: Classification of aggregates as per shape and size, physical prosperities of aggregate, thermal properties of aggregates, bricks and masonry blocks, compressive strength of brick, cement, raw material requirements, building stones, wood products, fire-resistant construction.

Estimating and Costing: Estimate of buildings, estimate of other structures, specification and tenders, valuation, requirements of estimation and costing, methods of taking out quantities, estimating of irrigation works.

Surveying and Leveling: Classification of surveyors, branches of surveying, basic principles in surveying, equipments used in chain surveying, errors in surveying, compass surveying, levelling, theodolite traversing, balancing the closing error graphically.

Construction Equipment: Objectives, classification of construction materials, properties of materials, mechanical properties, properties of good building stone, classification of rocks, dressing of stones, testing of stones, testing of bricks, type of bricks.

Project Formulation & Appraisal: Architectural plans and plan sheets, layout and framing plan views, working drawings, framing plans for ceilings and roofs, CAD programs for design and energy efficiency.

Statistical Methods For Engineering: Introduction, role of civil engineers in infrastructural development, impacts of infrastructural development, various disciplines of civil engineering, construction engineering, transportation engineering, surveying and remote sensing, based on fire resistant capacity.
