Course Name: Diploma in CCTV, DVR & Video Surveillance Systems
Course Id: DCDVSS/Q1001.
Eligibility: 10th Grade (high School) or equivalent.
Objective: The primary goal is to equip students with job-ready technical skills in the full life cycle of a surveillance system. This includes system design, hardware assembly and installation, configuration of Digital Video Recorders () and Network Video Recorders (), network integration, and diagnosing system faults. Graduates will be prepared to implement, maintain, and manage reliable video security infrastructure for diverse client needs.
Duration: Six Months.

Online Examination Detail:
- Duration- 120 minutes.
- No. of Questions- 60. (Multiple Choice Questions).
- 10 Questions from each module, each carry 10 marks.
- Maximum Marks- 600, Passing Marks- 40%.

Module 1: Core Principles and Components Introduction to Surveillance Technology and History, Analog CCTV System Architecture, Digital Video Recording (DVR) Functionality, Network Video Recording (NVR) Principles, Types of CCTV Cameras (Dome, Bullet, PTZ, Box, Covert), Camera Sensor Technology (CCD vs. CMOS), Video Compression Standards (H.264, H.265, MJPEG), Video Transmission Media (Coaxial, Twisted Pair, Fiber Optic), Power Supply Units (PSU) and Power over Ethernet (PoE), Monitors, Display Devices, and Video Wall Setup.
Module 2: Camera and Lens Selection Understanding Camera Resolution and Image Quality, Lens Fundamentals (Focal Length, Aperture, Iris), Calculating Field of View (FoV) and Depth of Field (DoF), Selecting the Correct Lens for Specific Applications, Illumination Principles and Lux Levels, Infrared (IR) Technology and Night Vision, Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and Backlight Compensation (BLC), Camera Housing and Environmental Protection (IP Ratings), Specialized Camera Features (Auto-Tracking, Thermal), Camera Mounting Methods and Positioning Strategy.
Module 3: Installation and Cabling Techniques Conducting a Site Survey and Assessment, Designing the Surveillance Layout, Installation Tool Requirements and Usage, Running and Protecting Cables and Conduits, Connector Termination (BNC, RJ45, Fiber Optic), Proper Grounding and Electrical Safety Procedures, Testing and Troubleshooting Video Signal Integrity, Setting Up Local and Remote Power Sources, Optimizing Camera Angle and Focus Adjustment, Documentation and As-Built Drawings Creation.
Module 4: DVR/NVR Configuration and Operation DVR/NVR Hardware Setup and Hard Disk Installation, Initial System Configuration and User Management, Setting Up Recording Schedules (Continuous, Motion, Alarm), Configuring Remote Viewing via Internet and Mobile Apps, Motion Detection and Video Analytics Setup, Managing Storage Capacity and Data Retention Policies, Backup and Exporting Video Evidence Procedures, System Health Monitoring and Diagnostics, Upgrading Firmware and Software Management, Troubleshooting Recording and Playback Issues.
