Eligibility: 10th Grade or Equivalent.
Objective: The Certified Perishable Air Cargo Handler course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills required for the efficient and compliant handling of temperature-sensitive air cargo, such as food, flowers, pharmaceuticals, and biologicals. The course covers cold chain principles, perishables classification, IATA Perishable Cargo Regulations (PCR), packaging and labeling requirements, temperature monitoring, handling equipment, and time-critical logistics coordination.
Duration: Three Month.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.

Assessment Modules:
Module 1: Introduction to Perishable Air Cargo Handling: Overview of the air cargo supply chain for perishables, Definition and classification of perishable goods (fruits, vegetables, seafood, flowers, pharmaceuticals), Importance of time and temperature sensitivity in air transport, Roles and responsibilities of a perishable air cargo handler, Overview of global regulations and standards (IATA PCR, CEIV Fresh), Stakeholders involved: shippers, ground handlers, airlines, and customs.
Module 2: Packaging, Labeling, and Documentation Requirements: Types of packaging for various perishable commodities, Use of insulated containers, gel packs, dry ice, and active temperature control containers, Packaging standards as per IATA Perishable Cargo Regulations (PCR), Correct labeling and marking of perishable cargo, Required documents: airway bill, health certificates, temperature logs, Export-import documentation and customs clearance basics.
Module 3: Temperature Control and Cold Chain Management: Understanding cold chain principles and temperature ranges (chilled, frozen, deep-frozen), Pre-cooling, temperature monitoring, and validation procedures, Cold storage facilities and their operational protocols, Temperature mapping and data logging technologies, Handling temperature excursions and corrective actions, Best practices in maintaining the cold chain throughout transit.
Module 4: Handling Procedures and Ground Operations: Receiving, inspection, and acceptance of perishable cargo, Time-bound transfer from storage to aircraft (tarmac handling), Safe loading/unloading procedures for temperature-sensitive goods, Segregation of incompatible cargo and ensuring ventilation, Personal protective equipment (PPE) and hygiene standards for handlers, Minimizing exposure during handling to prevent spoilage.
Module 5: Safety, Compliance, and Risk Management: Understanding hazards in perishable cargo handling (contamination, spoilage, leakage), Compliance with IATA, WHO, and country-specific health and safety regulations, Emergency procedures for cargo damage or rejection, Pest control and sanitation measures in storage areas, Security checks and handling restricted or regulated perishables, Insurance and liability considerations for perishable shipments.
Module 6: Quality Assurance, Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement: Implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control checks, Real-time monitoring tools: RFID, GPS, temperature sensors, Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery, spoilage rates, Customer feedback handling and complaint resolution, Staff training and audits for compliance and improvement, Capstone project: develop a complete perishable cargo handling plan for air shipment from farm to final destination.
