Eligibility: 10th Grade (High school) or equivalent is required.
Objective: The Certificate in Makeup for Special Effects + Prosthetics Basics + Costume Design is designed to provide learners with creative and technical skills required for professional entertainment and media production. The course covers essential areas such as special effects makeup, prosthetic application, character design, costume creation, materials and tools handling, and makeup for different media formats.
Duration: Three Months.
How to Enroll and Get Certified in Your Chosen Course:
Step 1: Choose the course you wish to get certified in.
Step 2: Click on the “Enroll Now” button.
Step 3: Proceed with the enrollment process.
Step 4: Enter your billing details and continue to course fee payment.
Step 5: You will be redirected to the payment gateway. Pay the course and exam fee using one of the following methods:
Debit/Credit Card, Wallet, Paytm, Net Banking, UPI, or Google Pay.
Step 6: After successful payment, you will receive your study material login ID and password via email within 48 hours of fee payment.
Step 7: Once you complete the course, take the online examination.
Step 8: Upon passing the examination, you will receive:
• A soft copy (scanned) of your certificate via email within 7 days of examination.
• A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.
Step 9: After certification, you will be offered job opportunities aligned with your area of interest.

Duration- 60 minutes.
No. of Questions- 30. (Multiple Choice Questions).
Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.
There is no negative marking in this module.

Module 1: Introduction to Special Effects Makeup
History of special effects makeup, Overview of SFX vs traditional makeup, Understanding skin anatomy, Safety and hygiene in makeup, Tools and equipment introduction, Basic materials (latex, silicone, gelatin), Color theory for SFX makeup, Makeup brushes and their uses, Prepping the skin for effects, Case studies of iconic SFX makeup in film and media.
Module 2: Prosthetics Basics
Introduction to prosthetics, Types of prosthetic materials (foam, silicone, gelatin), Life casting techniques, Mold-making and sculpting basics, Prosthetic application techniques, Adhesives and removers, Blending prosthetics with skin, Painting and finishing prosthetics, Repair and maintenance of prosthetics, Safety precautions and skin allergy management.
Module 3: Advanced SFX Techniques
Creating wounds, scars, and burns, Aging and character makeup, Fantasy and creature makeup, 3D effects and texture creation, Blood effects and realism, Hair and facial prosthetics integration, Using makeup for horror and sci-fi genres, Working with latex appliances, Layering and detailing techniques, Practical exercises in SFX design.
Module 4: Costume Design Fundamentals
Introduction to costume design, Understanding character and story, Fabric selection and material types, Costume sketching and concept art, Measuring and draping techniques, Sewing basics for costumes, Accessorizing and embellishments, Historical and cultural costume considerations, Costume color coordination and texture, Costume planning for performance and film.
