Objective: The objective of the Certificate in Insurance Operations & Claims Processing course is to train individuals in the principles and practices of the insurance industry, covering both life and general insurance. The course provides a comprehensive understanding of various insurance products, risk assessment, premium calculation, policy documentation, and regulatory guidelines. • A hard copy (original with official seal and signature) sent to your address within 45 day of declaration of result.

Maximum Marks- 100, Passing Marks- 40%.

Module 1: Fundamentals of Insurance: Principles of insurance, Types of insurance (life, health, general), Key insurance terms, Role of insurance in financial planning, Risk and premium, Insurance underwriting basics, Structure of insurance companies, Role of IRDAI, Insurance vs assurance, Insurance industry in India.
Module 2: IRDAI Rules and Licensing Process: IRDAI functions and regulations, Eligibility criteria for agents, Licensing procedure and exam, Code of conduct for agents, Renewal and cancellation of license, Ethics and compliance, Commission structure and benefits, Obligations of insurance agents, Anti-money laundering provisions, Recordkeeping and documentation.
Module 3: Life and Health Insurance Products: Types of life insurance (term, endowment, ULIP, etc.), Riders and add-ons, Health insurance policies (individual/family), Group insurance plans, Policy features and exclusions, Claims procedure overview, Pre-authorization and network hospitals, Medical underwriting, Comparison tools and policy customization, Grievance redressal mechanism.
Module 4: General Insurance & Claims Handling:: Types of general insurance (motor, travel, fire, marine), Key documents in general insurance, Intimation and filing of claims, Claim settlement process, Role of surveyors and loss assessors, TAT and service levels, Fraud detection and reporting, Customer communication, Third-party administrators (TPA), Dispute resolution process.
