Introduction to Control Transformers: Introduction, standard ratings of transformer and reactor, dynamic short circuit test requirement and validity, paint system and procedures, cooling equipment and its control, inspection and testing, hot oil circulation using high vacuum oil filter machine, energization of transformer/reactor.
Business Management and Transformer Manufacturing: Power transformers, distribution transformers, furnace transformers, rectifier (duty) transformers, special transformers.
Electrical Safety and Standards: Construction, installation, protection, operation and maintenance of electric supply lines and apparatus, cut-out on consumer’s premises, handling of electric supply lines and apparatus, cables for portable or transportable apparatus, supply and use of energy.
Financial Planning and Management: Introduction, financial management, role and functions of finance manager, liquidity and profitability, types of capital, elements of cost of capital, classification of cost of capital, types of working capital.
Industry Transformers: Applications and types of transformers, principles and the equivalent circuit, voltage regulation and efficiency, impact of manufacturing processes, transformer noise, circulating current loss in transformer windings, initial voltage distribution, high-voltage lead clearances.
Transformer Design and Manufacturing: Single phase power transformer design, three phase power transformer design, auto transformers, power transformers using capacitive filters, converter transformers, shielding in power transformers, iron core filter chokes.
