Introduction to Carpentry and Joinery: Carpentry tools, wood for carpentry work, nails, hinges and fixing material, wood work joints, doors and windows, aluminium sliding windows, glazing, slope roof and false ceiling, lamination.
Carpentry Tools and Equipment: Introduction, tools and equipment, hand cutter, hand router/trimmer, drill machine, hand planer, hand grinder, extension power cable, safety glasses, safety gloves, safety shoes.
Exterior Carpentry: Introduction, plywood & sheet goods, trim moldings, nails, screws & other hardware, tape measures, plumb bobs & chalk lines, hammers.
Finishing Techniques: Tools for applying finishes, oil finishes, staining wood, filling the pores, water-based finishes.
Interior Carpentry: Basics of interior design and functional aspects, furniture design and details, perspective drawing and basics of computer, joinery details and paints, plumbing and sanitation, lighting, electrical & air conditioning.
Materials Used in Carpentry: Role and responsibilities of a shuttering carpenter, hand and power tools used in shuttering carpentry works, handling and maintenance of tools, making of wooden shutter, effective communication and teamwork, safety drills.
