It covers water quality management, microbial culture development, feed management, stocking strategies, disease prevention, and fish health monitoring to ensure high productivity.

Syllabus
Introduction to Aquaculture: Aquaculture basics and history, aquatic plants and animals, marketing aquaculture, recreational fishing industry, raising ornamental fish, fundamentals of nutrition in aquaculture, feeds and feeding, health of aquatic animals, water requirements for aquaculture, aquatic structures and equipment, aquariums.
Fishing methods: Carps, catfish, small indigenous fish species (SIFS), snakeheads, tilapias, coldwater fishes, shrimps and prawns, crabs, biology of Indian major carp & biology of exotic carp, aquatic weeds & their control, breeding of aquarium fishes, methods of fish cultivation, aquarium fabrication, fresh water fisheries of India, management of fish farm.
Fish health management: Disease development, viral diseases, bacterial diseases, fungal diseases, parasitic diseases and pests, environmental and other non- infectious diseases, physical environmental and chemical methods of disease prevention, immunity and biological methods of disease prevention and control.
Aquaculture nutrition: Coldwater fisheries scenario of India, nutritional requirements, feeding exotic trout, feeding exotic carps, feeding mahseer, feeding snow trout, nutritional deficiency diseases.
Fish processing technology: Biofloc technology: standard operating procedure, integration of submerged substrates in biofloc based system, biofloc technology for water quality management in aquaculture, nutrition and feeding strategy in a biofloc system, health management in biofloc shrimp culture system, economics of biofloc based farming.
Ornamental fish culture: Introduction, live feed culture and feeding of ornamental fish larvae, general aspects of clownfish hatchery technology, packing and transportation, maintaining marine ornamental fishes in aquarium, feeds and feed management, diseases and health management.
