Syllabus
Anatomy and Physiology of Skin: Introduction, epidermis, the dermal-epidermal junction, eccrine sweat glands, epidermal appendages, hair follicles, sebaceous glands, the dermis.
Laser Treatment: Basic laser physics, principle of lasers, laser radiation, medical laser.
Photodynamic Therapy: Introduction, photosensitizers, light sources, practical aspects of topical PDT, mechanism of action, therapeutic applications- oncologic indications, therapeutic applications- nononcologic indications.
Skin Care Product: Skin conditions treated with topical skin care products, skin cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreens, pigment lighteners, assessing skin and skin improvements.
Wrinkles & Acne Scars: Ablative resurfacing, ablative laser skin resurfacing in the periorbital region, radiofrequency and optical devices for periorbital skin tightening, fractional ablative lasers, fractional carbon dioxide lasers.
Aesthetic Medicine: Diploma in aesthetic laser medicine, master of science in health and aesthetics.
