Syllabus
Anatomy and Physiology: Introduction to the human body, body functions & life process, cell function, body tissues, skeletal system anatomy, bone development & growth, muscles of the head and neck, the respiratory system.
Ethics and Professionalism: The functions of the board, continuing yoga education program, significance of hath yoga practices in health and well being, concepts of healthy living in bhagavad gita, yoga management of stress and its consequences, yoga in prevention of metabolic and respiratory disorders.
Foundations of Yoga Philosophy: The human predicament, the portals of enquiry, the psychology of knowing, the preparations for yoga, the conflict and the aims of life, meditational self-analysis.
Pranayama and Meditation: Introduction, perception of prana in different koshas, mooladhara chakra, location of the nadis, prana and mantra, physiology of breathing, process of respiration, classification of pranayama.
Teaching Methodology: Concept of yogic practices, types of yogic practices, importance of yoga, yama and niyama, classification of asanas, basic principle and methods, methodology of asanas, bandhas and mudras.
Advanced Asana Practice: Yoga exercises for the eyes, relaxation asanas, meditation asanas, vajrasana group of asanas, suryanamaskara, padmasana group of asanas, balancing asanas.
