Basics of Banking Services: Definition of banking & basic functions of a banker, relationship between banker and customer, opening and operations of accounts, KYC requirements, investment in securities. objectives, meaning of bank, types of banks, functions of commercial banks, central bank, bank deposit account, types of bank deposit accounts, procedure for operating savings bank account, e-banking (electronic banking).
Cost Accounting: Definition, scope, objectives and significance of cost accounting, classification of cost, cost accounting records, ledgers and cost statements, integral accounts, reconciliation of cost accounting records with financial accounts, marginal costing, standard costing & variance analysis, budget and budgetary control.
Marketing of Banking Services: Introduction, objectives, marketing: meaning and process, modern marketing concept, social marketing, relevance of marketing to banking, marketing environment for a banker, bank marketing plan and business objectives, marketing segmentation bases, banking services.
Financial Institutions and Financial Markets: Introduction, functions of the financial system, importance of financial system in economic growth, origin of bank, history of banking in India, banking functions, innovations in retail banking, importance of banking, challenges before banking, problems and prospects of Indian banking.
